Talk to the Press was founded in 2007 by Natasha Courtenay-Smith, a journalist with ten years experience in the writing of individual, personal and often emotional stories for magazines and newspapers. Natasha started her career on women's magazines, and subsequently became a staff feature writer at the Daily Mail.

 

Talking to the national press can meet a deep-seated need, yet at the same time, it can also be a nerve-racking experience. What if your words become misconstrued? What if you end up appearing in a magazine you don't even like? And what if your reputation suffers as a result? We understand that for many, talking to a newspaper or magazine is a once in a life time opportunity and not a decision that has been taken lightly.

 

When you make contact with Talk to the Press, you can be assured that everything you say remains totally confidential until such time as you have agreed to go forward with a particular publication.

 

We will guide you throughout the entire process, creating something that will provide the rewarding experience you seek, telling your story in the way you'd like it to be told, for an appropriate fee.

 

We'll be able to advise you, first of all, whether you have a story that would appeal to any part of the press, and which publications might be interested in featuring it. We'll interview you and write your copy. We'll manage your contracts and ensure you receive any payments you are due.

 

And we'll help you deal with any further interest you may receive from other publications and television programmes. Many of our case studies appear in a print publication and then go onto shows such as Richard & Judy, LK Today and This Morning as well as various radio stations. We are there to support them throughout.

 

We have a large network of contacts across national newspapers, glossy magazines and television stations, so we'll also be able to get you the best deal and the best coverage.

Talktothepress.com is managed on a daily basis by Hannah Barr and Boudicca Fox-Leonard. Both Hannah and Boudicca work for Talk to the Press as Feature Writers.

 

After you've filled out our story submission form (to the right), Hannah or Boudicca will have a chat with you about the details of your story, and whether or not we can sell it for you.
